Mike Chapin joins the leadership team as our General Counsel & Secretary, where he will oversee Kustomer’s legal and regulatory affairs worldwide.
Before joining Kustomer, Mike was General Counsel & Secretary at Knewton, a venture-backed technology company providing AI-driven personalized learning solutions across K-20 and corporate learning. In addition to advising Knewton across a number of legal fronts, Mike helped oversee its international expansion into Europe and Asia and also developed and managed its privacy framework in close collaboration with its engineering and business development teams.
Prior to Knewton, Mike was a corporate attorney in the Boston office of Cooley LLP advising technology companies on a broad range of corporate, commercial, intellectual property and regulatory legal issues. Prior to practicing law, he was a process engineer at several technology companies in Silicon Valley.
Mike believes in rolling up his sleeves and working collaboratively with teams across an organization to provide pragmatic legal advice and find creative solutions when necessary that balance risk with achieving corporate objectives.
Mike holds a B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering from University of California, Berkeley and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law.
Mike lives in Manhattan with his wife, son and their adorable dog Teddy.
